Kohei Morioka(以下「運営者」といいます。)

Privacy Policy (English)
Kohei Morioka (the “Operator”) establishes this Privacy Policy for the handling of user information in the iOS application “Visual Film” (the “App”).
1. Core privacy approach
The App generally processes the capture, import, editing, and saving of photos and videos on the user’s device. Photos and videos captured or edited in the App, and their associated metadata, are not automatically sent to the Operator, Google AdMob, or any other advertising provider. The App does not collect user accounts, passwords, contacts, health information, or financial or payment information, and does not obtain the user’s current location through Location Services. The Operator does not use an independent analytics service. Section 3 explains the on-device handling of dates, times, and location information contained in photos.
2. Information handled on the device
The App handles the following information on the device as necessary to provide its features:
- Photos and videos captured with the camera;
- Photos selected by the user through the system photo picker or copies of photos sent to the App through the share menu;
- Photo and video edits;
- Capture dates and times, GPS location, and other metadata contained in photos;
- Filters, aspect ratios, and other app settings;
- The number of remaining photo captures;
- Pending capture data, capture and editing settings, photo-library asset identifiers, and save status;
- Completion records used to prevent duplicate saves, capture-credit deductions, and reopening of completed shared-photo edits; and
- The number of completed edit saves and whether a review prompt has been shown.
This on-device information is used to provide the App’s features, retain settings, retry and recover saves, manage photo captures, prevent duplicate saves, credit deductions, and editing prompts, and prevent duplicate review prompts.
For photo captures subject to advertising, the initial allowance is 5 captures, and 5 captures are added each time a rewarded-ad reward is confirmed. The maximum remaining balance is 20 captures. One capture is deducted for each camera photo once a successful save is confirmed; no capture is deducted for a failed save or while the save result is unconfirmed. Recording videos and saving edits to imported photos do not consume captures. While an ad-removal entitlement is being checked, the App accepts photo captures within the available balance and reserves those captures. After the check, successfully saved captures are deducted if advertising applies, and are not deducted if ad removal is active. The capture limit does not apply while a monthly or lifetime ad-removal entitlement is active.
3. Camera, microphone, and photo library
- The camera is used to capture photos and videos.
- The microphone is used only to record audio while recording video.
- Add-only photo library access is used to save captured and edited photos and videos.
- On supported devices, features that finish captured photos at their highest resolution and edit or update the same photo-library asset request read-and-write photo library access. Only photos within the authorized scope are used.
- Photos selected through the system photo picker or share menu are used for import and editing initiated by the user. Using the photo picker alone does not trigger an additional request for photo library read access.
The App does not access Location Services. However, it may read capture dates, times, and GPS location contained in input-photo metadata such as EXIF, or date, time, and location information from an authorized photo-library asset, on the device and preserve that information in edited or saved results. This information is not automatically sent to the Operator or advertising providers. Device permissions can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.
4. Retention of photos and videos
Captured and imported images are held on the device for capture, editing, and saving. Pending capture data that has been written to on-device storage is retained with the original image, any required compositing material, capture and editing settings, and save status for retries or recovery on a subsequent launch. Original data is preserved until a successful save is confirmed, including when a save fails or its result cannot be confirmed. After the photo-library save and capture-credit processing are completed, the App attempts to delete working copies. If deletion fails, a copy may remain on the device until a later deletion attempt.
Photos received through the share menu are copied into on-device storage shared by the App and its share extension. If import fails, the original copy is preserved for a retry. After the editing screen closes, the App records that editing has ended before attempting to delete the copy. The copy is preserved if writing the record or deleting the copy fails. Completion records are retained until the related copies have been deleted to prevent duplicate saves, credit deductions, and editing prompts.
While recording video, the App creates a file in the device’s temporary storage and normally deletes it after saving, cancellation, or a processing failure. A temporary file left after an abnormal termination may remain on the device and be subject to iOS temporary-storage management.
Photos and videos saved to the photo library remain there until the user deletes them through Photos or another applicable app. Deleting the App does not delete photos or videos already saved to the photo library. Storage or synchronization through iCloud Photos or device backup is handled by Apple according to the user’s Apple Account and device settings.
5. Information collected through support inquiries
If a user contacts the Operator by email, the Operator may collect the sender’s email address, message content, any name or other information voluntarily included by the user, voluntarily attached files, and the history of the support correspondence. This information is used to respond to and handle the inquiry, investigate defects, and improve the App.
Support information is not used to personalize advertising or train AI models, is not made public, and is not sold to third parties. When personal identification is unnecessary for improving the App, identifiers such as email addresses are separated from the information used for improvement.
6. Advertising and information collected by Google
When the App has checked the ad-removal entitlement and determines that advertising applies, it uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for ad delivery, ad personalization, measurement, fraud prevention, and improvement of advertising functionality. While the entitlement is being checked or a monthly or lifetime ad-removal entitlement is active, the App does not start new ad fetching, presentation, or advertising-consent requests. Google and its advertising technology partners may collect the following information:
- IP address and approximate region inferred from an IP address or similar information;
- IDFA, IDFV, identifiers generated by Google, and other device identifiers;
- Ads shown, clicks, video views, and other advertising activity;
- Product interaction information such as app launches; and
- Crash logs, performance information, and other diagnostic information.
The information actually collected varies according to the device, operating system, region, user choices, Google ad-serving mode, and Google service settings. Photos and videos captured or edited in the App are not attached to ad requests.
7. Advertising consent, ATT, and personalization
Only after checking the entitlement and determining that advertising applies, the App presents advertising choices through UMP where required and initializes the Google Mobile Ads SDK only after confirming that ads may be requested. When access to IDFA is requested, the App asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
Personalized ads may be served when the necessary consent has been provided and ATT permission has been granted. If the user denies or withdraws ATT permission, opts out of ad personalization, or exercises an applicable statutory opt-out, the App requests non-personalized ads, limited ads, or technical ad delivery. In some cases, no ad may be shown.
ATT permission can be changed in iOS Settings. When “Ad Privacy Settings” is available in the App, users can review and change their advertising choices there.
8. Sale, sharing, and choices for users in the United States
The Operator does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, information processing by Google and its advertising technology partners for ad delivery, personalization, measurement, and fraud prevention may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under certain U.S. state privacy laws.
Eligible users may opt out through “Ad Privacy Settings” when that option is available in the App. The choice is communicated to Google and, where applicable, restricted data processing or other privacy-protective treatment is applied.
9. Third-party services and international processing
The App uses AdMob and UMP for ad delivery and consent management, and Gmail for support correspondence. These services are provided by Google. Information associated with these services may be processed or stored in countries or regions other than the user’s country of residence. The Operator selects services after reviewing their published privacy policies, data protection terms, and other safeguards, and uses them only to the extent necessary.
Apple manages the monthly and lifetime ad-removal purchases offered within the same App. The App uses StoreKit to request product information and verified purchase entitlements. Apple handles payment information and the Apple Account; the Operator does not receive card numbers or other payment information.
The web server hosting this Policy may record ordinary access-log information, such as IP address, browser or device information, and access date and time, to deliver the page securely, respond to failures, and prevent abuse. Such logs are retained only for as long as necessary and are not used for ad personalization or the Operator’s independent analytics.
10. Retention
- On-device app settings and the remaining photo-capture balance are retained while needed to provide the relevant features or until the App is deleted from the device. Pending capture data, shared-photo copies, and completion records are retained and deleted as described in Section 4.
- Support information is retained for as long as necessary to handle inquiries, investigate defects, improve the App, and maintain necessary records, and is deleted when it is no longer needed for those purposes.
- Information collected by Google is retained according to Google’s policies and the user’s settings.
11. User rights and deletion methods
To the extent provided by applicable law, users may request notice of purpose, access, correction, supplementation, deletion, restriction of use, erasure, or cessation of third-party provision with respect to their information held by the Operator. Such requests are generally free of charge.
- On-device app settings, the remaining photo-capture balance, pending capture data, shared-photo copies, and completion records can be removed from the device by deleting the App.
- Photos and videos already saved to the photo library can be deleted by the user through Photos or another applicable app.
- ATT permission can be changed in iOS Settings.
- Advertising choices can be changed through “Ad Privacy Settings” when available, in-ad controls, or Google’s advertising controls.
- Requests concerning support information can be submitted using the email address below.
Identity is generally verified using the email address used for the original inquiry and the minimum information necessary to match the request with information held by the Operator. Government identification is not normally required, but additional verification may be requested when impersonation or fraud is reasonably suspected. If a request cannot be fulfilled under applicable law, the Operator will explain the reason.
12. Children under 13
The App is intended for a general audience, is not designed for children under 13, and is not listed in Apple’s Kids Category. The Operator does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information to the Operator may contact the email address below. After verification, the Operator will respond as required by applicable law.
13. Security and incident response
The Operator applies reasonable safeguards, including access restrictions, to information under the Operator’s control. If a data leak, loss, unauthorized access, or similar incident occurs, the Operator will investigate the facts and scope, take steps to prevent further harm, report to relevant authorities where required by law, and notify affected users. If an incident has a broad impact, notice will also be provided on the official website or in the App.
14. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be revised to reflect changes in law, the App, or the handling of user information. The revised terms and effective date will be posted on this page. Material changes to information collected, purposes of use, or third-party provision will also be announced in the App or through the App Store update description.
15. Operator and contact information
Operator: Kohei Morioka
